DAN150 Dance Performance I 1 Credits

An introduction to the process and practice of dance performance.

Prerequisites: None.

Corequisites: Any level of any of the following dance technique courses with a DAN prefix: ballet, modern, jazz, hip hop, tap, social, or world dance.

Course Notes: This class functions as a Dance Company. Live on-line and face-to-face rehearsal times may vary. A rehearsal calendar will be given to all students on the first day of class.

Notes: Class 17609: Enrollment in this course is by audition only. Auditions will be held during the week prior to the start of classes each semester. Students wishing to audition should contact Dance Program Director Jennifer Seigle (jennifer.seigle@mesacc.edu) for audition information. Students in DAN150/DAN155 will engage in a rigorous rehearsal process for multiple dances, which will be performed in the formal Dance Concert. This course requires extra rehearsal and performance time outside of scheduled class meetings. In addition to regular rehearsals, all students in this course must attend all technical and dress rehearsals for the production. Students will also participate in at least one full-concert run-through prior to tech week. A rehearsal schedule will be provided to students during the first week of classes.
