Comparison and evaluation of various types of language educational models including Structured English Immersion (SEI), English as a Second Language (ESL) and bilingual/Dual Language Immersion(DLI). Includes SEI, ESL, and bilingual/DLI strategies. Prerequisites: None.

EDU222 Introduction to the Exceptional Learner 3 Credits
Overview of the exceptional learner with emphasis on factors relating to current practices, identification, characteristics, and educational adaptations. Issues related to mild disabilities, severe disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, intellectual disabilities, and students who are gifted. Prerequisites: None.
During this course students will conduct a minimum of 15 hours of field experience in a P-12 classroom environment, often requiring an IVP fingerprint clearance card. To begin the IVP card process, go to www.azdps.gov/services/fingerprint/#1 and click on Apply for a Card.

EDU292 The Art of Storytelling 3 Credits
Explore the art and origin of storytelling. Provide a variety of storytelling techniques, styles and exercises to enhance the delivery of telling stories. Assist in the integration and application of storytelling to the learning environment in the classroom. Prerequisites: None.
