Class 29694 Students will have 8 weeks from their start date to complete the class. OEE students may work at the open labs at Southern & Dobson and Red Mountain. OEE students must have the appropriate software to work from home.

Class 29694 Class uses Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel 2016 or 2019.

BPC110 Computer Usage and Applications 3 Credits
Introduction to business and personal computer operations and usage. Software applications for analyzing and solving business problems including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation graphics. Prerequisites: None.
BPC110 uses Microsoft Office 2016, 2019 or Office 365 and includes extensive hands-on experience with word processing, excel spreadsheets, presentation and database management software. Knowledge of basic features of Windows and ability to type 30 WPM recommended. Macintosh users should consult with their instructor for information on how to take BPC110 on a Mac.

CIS105 Survey of Computer Information Systems 3 Credits
Overview of computer technology, concepts, terminology, and the role of computers in business and society. Discussion of social and ethical issues related to computers. Use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. Includes uses of application software and the Internet for efficient and effective problem solving. Exploration of relevant emerging technologies. Prerequisites: None.
CIS105 is a lecture course with computers demonstrations and open lab assignments. CIS105 uses Windows-based computers to cover word processing, presentation, spreadsheet and database management software. Includes overview of computer technology, concepts, terminology and the role of computers in business and society. Discussion of social and ethical issues related to computers and exploration of relevant emerging technologies. Knowledge or basic features of Windows and ability to type 30 WPM recommended. CIS105 uses Microsoft Office 2016 or 2019 and either Windows 7, 8, or 10 software.
