Designed as the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) lecture to prepare students for scope of practice and standard of care with comprehensive assessment, diagnostic technology, patient advocacy, ethical and professional behaviors, critical thinking, decision-making, and patient management of medical and trauma emergencies and non-emergencies. Prerequisites: EMT101, or currnt validation in BLS HCP/PR) and (Accuplacer: 74/+, or Next Gen Accuplacer 249/+, or Asset 42/+, or Compass 83/+, or EDReady Critcl Readng & Thinkng 90/+, OR HS GPA 3.0/+, or Associate¦s Degree/hghr). EMT104LL | Emergency Medical Technology Practicum | 2 Credits | ||||

Designed as the simulated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) practicum in which the student synthesizes standard of care and scope of practice with comprehensive assessment and diagnostic technology, patient advocacy, ethical and professional behaviors, critical thinking, decision-making, and patient management of medical and trauma emergencies. Provides scenario based learning applied to the techniques of emergency medical care in accordance with national and state curriculum. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in EMT104 or permission of Instructor or Corequisites: EMT104. |

EMT104LL | Emergency Medical Technology Practicum | 2 Credits | ||||

Designed as the simulated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) practicum in which the student synthesizes standard of care and scope of practice with comprehensive assessment and diagnostic technology, patient advocacy, ethical and professional behaviors, critical thinking, decision-making, and patient management of medical and trauma emergencies. Provides scenario based learning applied to the techniques of emergency medical care in accordance with national and state curriculum. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in EMT104 or permission of Instructor or Corequisites: EMT104. |

Course Notes: Registration Information 1. Students must take the Reading Placement test and pass with a 10th grade reading score 2. The EMT program is offered as a cohort. Students must register for the following EMT101, EMT104, EMT104LL and EMT104AB classes, by adding each section to your Student Center Shopping Cart at the same time, prior to completing the registration process. |
