Profile
As Associate Vice President of Communications, Marketing and Advancement, Marcy Snitzer serves as a member of the college’s leadership team and is responsible for Executive Communications, Community Messaging, Marketing, Media relations, Public Relations, Internal Communications, Web Services, Commencement, and Special Event Planning.
She has more than 25 years of experience in higher education with expertise in communication strategy and message development, project management, and leadership of diverse teams. Projects she has led have won national and regional awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations, an affiliate of the American Association of Community Colleges.
Marcy Snitzer joined Mesa Community College in 2001. She served as Interim Director of Institutional Advancement from 2018 to 2021, managing the diverse portfolio associated with the AVP position while providing strategy development and implementation for COVID crisis communications. In her prior position as Manager of Internal Communications and Alumni Relations, she was responsible for engaging alumni, community, students, and employees in life-long relationships with MCC through communications and events, while recognizing alumni, faculty, staff, and community member accomplishments in the annual Hall of Fame.
Prior to joining MCC, Marcy worked at the University of Arizona as part of a team charged with creating a Virtual Adaptive Learning Architecture through a U. S. Department of Education grant.
She earned an Associate of Arts and Associate of General Studies, With Distinction, from Mesa Community College; a Bachelor of Arts in English, Summa Cum Laude, from Arizona State University; and a Master of Educational Leadership, with Highest Honors, from Northern Arizona University.
She is a fourth generation Arizonan who enjoys spending her free time with family and friends camping, quad riding, reading, volunteering, and attending a variety of musical and dramatic performances.
