Focus on copy editing skills and techniques needed in professional communication industries. Specifically, the basics of grammar of style, interaction of word and image, the process of aggregation and curation, and an introduction to ethics and industry standards are covered. Writing for clarity, completeness, and conciseness is emphasized.

Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in ENG101 or permission of Instructor. JRN201 recommended for Journalism students.

Hands-on experience working in a college newsroom developing content as reporters, photographers, editors, and other roles on the student news team. Roles and responsibilities vary depending on student goals.

Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in JRN201 or [(ENG101 or ENG107) and permission of Program Director or Instructor].
