AVC200 Animation and Interactivity 3 Credits

Animation and object-oriented programming concepts and techniques using industry standard authoring tools applied by the creative industry to animation productions, and interactive media. Introduction to animation and object- oriented programming concepts and techniques using industry standard authorizing tools. Includes tools used by the creative industry for animation productions and interactive media.

Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in AVC100 or permission of Instructor.

Class 32123 This course uses TouchDesigner. Minimum requirements are as follows: - Windows 8.1 / Windows 10 / Windows 11 - Video RAM (VRAM) 1GB + - Nvidia GPUs GeForce 800 Series or better Quadro K Series or better Nvidia Driver 472.47 or newer - AMD GPUs AMD HD 7000 Series or better AMD W or V Series or better - Intel Integrated GPUs Intel 500 and newer GPUs (not 5000, 6000 series) Not all features are supported on Intel's integrated GPUs -Apple GPUs Mac Pro / iMac / Mac Mini / MacBook Pro / MacBook Air 2015+ Currently we are only getting consistent results on machines that are new enough to be updated to macOS 12+. Older machines that have Metal support may work, but so far we are seeing crashes on 2013 and previous Macs that are not able to update to macOS 12+. In order to work outside class time, you will need either a computer meeting above requirements, or you are welcome to use specified campus computers to complete your work. AVC240 Cinematography and Directing for 2D/3D Animation 3 Credits

Essential skills, concepts and the use of virtual cameras in 2D and 3D animation environments: planning, pre-production, storyboards and pre-visualization using real-world camera principles is combined with rendering, sound and post-production in a nonlinear environment.

Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in (ADA/AVC/MMT184, or AVC/MMT185, or FMP108) or permission of Instructor.

Students in this class will be provided an Adobe Creative Cloud account tied to their MEID username, for home use on PC or Mac computers (smartphone or tablet mobile devices are not supported) during the duration of this course. Students should review the minimum configuration requirements to run Adobe CC on their personal device at: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/system-requirements.html. Your instructor will provide login directions on the first day of class.

Class 32124 This course uses Notch, a Windows exclusive program that does not have a Mac equivalent. The minimum requirements are as follows: - Windows 8.1 or newer (64-bit only) - GPU minimum: NVIDIA GeForce 1060 AMD Radeon RX 580 - GPU recommended: NVIDIA GeForce 2080 Ti or higher NVIDIA Quadro RTX 6000 or higher Notch education licenses will be available for purchase via MCC in the first part of the course for a reduced price, and there will be lab time on-campus for you to work if necessary.
