Profile

I love math!  I realize that many of you may not share that thought.  That is ok.  I hope that through this course you are able to master the appropriate materials to move on in your pursuit of teaching as well as realize that math is the key to opening many opportunities for you and your future students.  Learning math and feeling confident will enable you to pursue any endeavor you desire and help your students do the same.  I firmly believe that making a class engaging and fun helps students learn the material.  I feel that students learn better with their peers.  Group works utilized heavily in my courses.  I look forward to helping you succeed in this course and your future.

Classes Taught

Fall 2019

MAT141 College Mathematics 4 Credits
Working knowledge of college-level mathematics and its applications to real-life problems. Emphasis on understanding mathematical concepts and their applications. Topics include set theory, probability, statistics, finance, and geometry.
Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in each of the following courses: (MAT055, MAT056, and MAT057), OR a grade of C or better in MAT085 or MAT09+ or MAT12+, OR an appropriate district placement.
MAT141 is appropriate for the student whose major does not require college algebra or precalculus.
This class may require a graphing calculator and/or online software package, such as MyMathLab, that may result in an additional cost to the student. Some instructors allow the use of the online textbook that accompanies the online software package in lieu of a physical textbook. Contact your instructor for details. All students must meet the MCC Mathematics Department prerequisite requirements for each class.
