MTC101 Introduction to Music Theory 3 Credits
Designed to develop written and aural skills necessary for advanced study of music theory and skills. Recommended for music majors. Prerequisites: None.
MTC101 is an introductory course designed for those with little or no previous musical knowledge. If you are unsure of where to begin, take the Music Theory Placement Recommendation Exam at www.mc.maricopa.edu/music. Bring score printout with you to advisement. Many programs of study that require MTC101 will also accept the more advanced MTC105 as a substitute. Check with your advisor.
