Reviews the sources of stress, the physiological effects and the psychological impact of stress on the individual. Provides strategies to manage and reduce stress. Helps students develop and understand behaviors to create a healthy balance in their lives by studying the biological, psychological, physiological, and social aspects of stress and wellness. Survey of the behavioral health and social services professions, including scope of practice and training requirements. Exploration of employment opportunities in the field and self-assessment/academic planning for a career in mental health. Overview of mental health disorders and first responder skills in a mental health crisis situation. Prerequisites: None.
Approved by AzPost for 40 hours of continual education. Meets requirements for 40 hours by the AzBBHE.
