CHM130 Fundamental Chemistry 3 Credits

A survey of the fundamentals of general chemistry. Emphasis on essential concepts and problem solving techniques. Basic principles of measurement, chemical bonding, structure and reactions, nomenclature, and the chemistry of acids and bases. Preparation for students taking more advanced courses in chemistry.

Prerequisites: C/better in [(CHM100 or hgh schl algebra or MAT140/hghr or EdReady Quant&Stat 70/hghr or Coll Alg 80/hghr) and (RDG100 or RDG100LL or hghr or eligibility for CRE101 as indicated by appropriate reading placemnt)] or permission of the dept.

Course Notes: CHM130 is lecture only. Students who need a lab must take CHM130LL.
