ART131 Photography I 3 Credits

Basic photographic principles and techniques. Basic camera functions and controls. Experience in the image-making process by creating and editing photographs for various display environments. Introduction to the photographic aesthetic and photography's role in society. Prerequisites: None.

Course Notes: ART131 requires a digital camera with manual mode; a smart phone with manual controls may be used with instructor approval. This course is required for the Certificate of Completion in Digital Arts: Digital Photography and the AAS Digital Arts: Digital Photography Track. Students in this class will be provided an Adobe Creative Cloud account tied to their MEID username, for home use on PC or Mac computers (smartphone or tablet mobile devices are not supported) during the duration of this course.
