MTC101 Introduction to Music Theory 3 Credits

Designed to develop written and aural skills necessary for advanced study of music theory and skills. Recommended for music majors. Prerequisites: None.

Course Notes: MTC101 is an introductory course designed for those with little or no previous musical knowldege. If you are unsure of where to begin music classes, take the Music Theory Placement Exam at www.mc.maricopa.edu/music. Print your score results and bring them with you to advisement. Many programs of study that require MTC101 will also accept the more advanced MTC105 as a substitute. Check with your program advisor.
