Fundamentals of the design process: engineering modeling, communication and problem-solving skills in a team environment. Emphasis on process-based improvements to the design process. Introduction to engineering as a profession.

Study and application of engineering graphics, parts modeling, assemblies modeling, and engineering drawings including tolerancing and fasteners using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.

Students may take the "Certified SolidWorks Associate Exam" (CSWA) at no cost, this exam is optional. Students need to have access to a computer with Windows 7 SP1, 64-bit or higher in order to install and use SolidWorks. The SolidWorks software will be provided to students at no cost.
