Introduction to fuel systems used in Caterpillar engines. Covers fuel selection, calibrations, and nozzle testing procedures, governor operation, and hydraulic fuel ratio controls. Includes 1.1 and 1.2 MUI and HEUI, EUI, Nippondenso, and Zexel fuel systems.

Application of skills and knowledge gained in CTT coursework in an internship in a dealership environment. Develops professional skills required of Caterpillar service technician. Provides experience in lubrication systems, engine air induction systems, cooling systems, fuel systems, timing systems, failure analysis, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of specific types of Caterpillar equipment. Requires intern to complete a list of learning objectives, keep a logbook, and be evaluated by dealership supervisor and internship coordinator.
