Profile
I earned a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, AZ, in 2006. My training included OB/GYN, natural birth, family medicine, endocrinology, and pain management. I gained experience working in local hospitals and clinics. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Pre-Medicine from Concordia University in Irvine, CA, and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Pepperdine University. My career has included roles as a mental health therapist, Social Services Director in a nursing facility, hospital social worker, crisis counselor, and crisis evaluator in an Emergency Room. I also served as a Site Coordinator, managing 25 staff members and 950 severely mentally ill clients in Tucson and Phoenix, AZ.
I have been teaching since September 2003 and currently teach at several local universities. From 2010 to 2013, I was the Area Chair of the Undergraduate and Graduate Psychology programs at the University of Phoenix Phoenix Campus, where I managed 50 faculty members and oversaw both the undergraduate and graduate programs. In 2016, I received the Outstanding Faculty of the Year award in the Social Sciences Department at the University of Phoenix. I also served as the Department Chair at Arizona Christian University for seven years and have been teaching at Maricopa Community Colleges for the past seven years.
