Notes: This course, designed for majors and non-majors, meets twice a week in the lab and will involve students in the national undergraduate research project SEA PHAGE, in collaboration with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Throughout the semester, students will participate in hands-on activities focused on discovering viruses in soil samples. This immersive experience aims to develop practical research skills and a great understanding of viral biology.

The study and principles of structure and function of organisms at the molecular and cellular levels. A detailed exploration of the chemistry of life, the cell, and genetics.

Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in RDG100, or RDG100LL, or higher, or eligibility for CRE101. One year of high school or one semester of college-level biology and chemistry is strongly recommended.
