5. Evidence of Financial Support:

In compliance with the Department of Homeland Security/SEVIS regulations, all international applicants on an F-1 student visa must provide evidence of sufficient funds available for their studies. International students at MCC are required to show sponsorship for a minimum of $30,219 per year. The exact cost changes slightly from year to year due to changes in tuition costs.

  • Complete the Evidence of Financial Support form and obtain signatures as needed.
  • Provide an original letter on official bank letterhead showing that the student (if self-supported) or the sponsor has sufficient funds on deposit to cover tuition and living expenses while in the U.S.
Financial Requirements Notes:
  • A minimum of $30,219 in U.S. currency per year plus any dependent fees (an additional $5,000 for the first dependent and $2,500 per additional dependent)
  • Applicants must obtain housing on their own as Mesa Community College does NOT provide student accommodations. Applicants who plan to live with a friend or family member in the United States may complete the Room and Board Agreement and are only required to submit a bank statement showing $13,019 per year (instead of $30,219).
  • Funding NOT acceptable: stocks and bonds, securities holdings, investment trust, insurance, IRA/Roth IRA retirement accounts, and property or employment income.
  • Financial documents must be issued within the last 6 months before the official school start date.
  • International students are not eligible for the in-state tuition rate and are charged the out-of-state tuition rate. Financial aid or scholarships are not available for international students.
  • While all efforts are made to present accurate information, changes in tuition and fees are subject to change without notice.

NOTE: For the visa process, the American Embassy or Consulate will require another set of original financial documents.
